ALLY CAPELLINO

ALLY CAPELLINO

Recently I worked on a Live University project commissioned by Ally Capellino. Myself and my group created a set of images that took the British brand in a new, fresh direction whilst keeping its brand values and known aesthetic of natural, quality products.

Please click the link above to view Ally Capellino’s blog page where a selection of our images are posted. (The first three images) and also follow this link: http://ac1-raw.weebly.com for the rest of the project and complete final images.

BRIEF:

Working with one men’s and one women’s AC bag from the SS14 collection, create a series of images and video focusing on the bag. Upcoming Spring theme ‘Greens and Nudes’ is your starting point or inspirational subject matter.’

The temperature is heating up, and so are we. Cali kids are in a state of panic as the mecca of SoCal music festivals swiftly approaches and the only thing on our minds: What are we going to wear? The balance of looking desert chic but not burning to a crisp is fragile, although sticking to a fail-proof fashion trend and keeping your attention to detail are both critical for nailing your Coachella looks. Luckily we’ve pin pointed three of the top trends you’ll see frolicking across the festival tents.

Have some fun and embrace the fantastical exercise that is melting in the sun to your favorite summer soundtrack, or perhaps sipping cocktails poolside. It’s a hard life, ain’t it?

PRINT ON PRINT ON PRINT: Blending bold prints together is an artful craft which must not be taken lightly. However, risk-takers will be rewarded heavily if they can successfully coordinate the unconventional patterns into a single ensemble. Don’t just think conventional animal prints. While leopard and cheetah spots are all fair game, prints extend to all types of interesting and eye-catching graphic designs, color blocking, monograms, etc. Take a stab at it and rearrange if necessary.

FLOWER CHILD: Obviously one of our favorites, and yes we know, flower headbands are going to be on overdose this festival season but in the lovely words of Icona Pop, we “Don’t Care!” Our inner-flower child will come out to play as floral takes main stage. For those of you who’d rather steer clear from the “Lana” look, we understand. Thankfully, however, this trend can be translated in many ways. Our favorite solution is a cropped form-fitting peek-a-boo floral top like the one Spring Breaker Selena wore at SXSW this year.

FRINGE BINGE: Admittedly, fringe is one of our addictions. Good thing is that a festival is the perfect occasion for being completely relentless when binging on fringe. On jackets, dresses, tops, shorts, some may call it safe but we think it’s an appropriate fallback for an outfit. Working a fringe look into your weekend wardrobe is a must. Just don’t hold back. Embrace the fringe. You love the fringe.
